Mark
Cheatham joined BaumanCurry & Co. as Vice President
in December 1999 to manage agency accounts and implement
an entertainment division. His current corporate clients
include First 5 California, Pacific Gas and Electric
Company and Immunize LA Kids. Cheatham's entertainment
clients include Judge Mablean Ephriam of Divorce Court,
and the Jamerican International Film & Music Festival.
He has also conducted feature film unit publicity
campaigns for studios including Lions Gate Films,
Screen Gems Pictures, and Fox Searchlight Pictures.
Cheatham
began his professional career as a newspaper reporter,
writing for publications including the Shore Line
Times in Branford, CT; the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
in Fort Worth, TX; and the Hartford Courant in Hartford,
CT. His public relations career began in Los Angeles
in 1991 as an Account Executive in the Corporate Group
at Rogers & Cowan Public Relations where he created
and executed strategic public relations campaigns
for MGM Grand Air and other clients. Upon leaving
Rogers & Cowan Cheatham served as the Director of
Publicity/West Coast for New Line Cinema for three
years, handling both corporate and film release publicity.
Some of the film campaigns Cheatham coordinated include
Menace II Society (domestic and the 1993 Cannes Film
Festival), House Party 2 & 3, Deep Cover, Damage,
Poison Ivy and Glengarry Glen Ross, to name a few.
Cheatham
has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and is a
graduate of the University of Connecticut.
